A few weeks ago, the British manufacturer Naim celebrated the premiere of its first own turntable Solstice with the launch of Naim Solstice Special Edition. Now there are three German appointments to assess the new lathe operator.
Naim Solstice Special Edition: Details
The turntable bears the suffix “Special Edition” because, strictly speaking, it is not just a turntable, but a complete system consisting of a drive, tonearm (a modernized version of the Aro tonearm), MC cartridge, power supply and phono stage – and because it is there will only be 500 copies of this bundle.
According to the press release, the Solstice turntable combines key Naim design philosophies such as multi-level mechanical decoupling. It has a magnetic bearing that carries a massive, highly polished aluminum platter, as well as a self-calibrating motor drive system.
The interior of the Equinox cartridge (MC) is located in a solid aluminum housing that was milled from a single block. An inclined, silver-polished bevel runs over the black edges of the pickup, which at the same time makes the invisible facets of the diamond needle visible.
The Special Edition also includes the Naim Records “True Stereo Album” – a curated collection of high-quality true stereo recordings that have been remastered for vinyl.
Would you like to see it all in person? There are three appointments with auditorium to disposal:
