If we are to believe the latest rumors, Microsoft is currently working on new version of an Xbox One without a disc tray. Microsoft would even start a program that would allow you to exchange your games on disc for digital codes.
Xbox One without a disc tray coming up – rumor
Microsoft is probably working behind the scenes on the successor of the Xbox One X, but not before the current platform gets one last move. At least that seems to happen. Sources confirm to the website Thurrott that Microsoft intends to release an Xbox One new version without a support of disc tray. This new model should start in 2019 and get a low price (probably around a hundred dollars). But what if you already have some physical Xbox games?
Microsoft would have an answer in the form of an exchange program. All your physical games would then be exchanged in the store for a digital version. In addition, there should be a version of the Xbox One S to appear, let the sources know, including disc tray. Microsoft knows that some gamers still like to have games on a disc so that the case can be put in the closet with the other physical video games. The company from Redmond has not responded to the rumors.
