With the Transpuls series, the manufacturer Magnat launched a product line last year that should make every vintage friend’s heart beat faster. The previous models Transpuls 1000 and Transpuls 1500 were passive boxes – now a compact, active version has been added.
Magnat Transpuls 800A: technology and concept
Strictly speaking, one is from one Master-slave concept should speak: The entire electronics are housed in one box, while the other is connected to the master loudspeaker via a loudspeaker cable.
The connectivity of the system is remarkable: First of all, there is a cinch connection that can be switched between phono MM and high level. The master loudspeaker also offers a Bluetooth receiver, an Aux-In stereo jack, an optical S / PDIF input and an HDMI-ARC input for connecting to the TV. Anyone who owns a subwoofer will be happy about the sub-out.
The 40 cm high and 24 cm wide two-way loudspeaker is equipped with a single compression tweeter horn, which is fired by a 25 mm fabric dome. The 17 cm bass-midrange driver comes with a hard paper cone and a tissue clamp borrowed from sound reinforcement technology.
The built-in output stages provide 2 x 60 watts of continuous power, the DAC section can process signals up to 24 bit / 192 kHz via the optical input. The scope of delivery includes a remote control and rubber feet – for decoupling – in two different heights so that the speakers can also be set up at an angle. The Magnat Transpuls 800A are available from 11/22/2021.
