LG wants to go in a different direction as a company, as you know flat panel HD. The South Korean manufacturer no longer wants to be known as a company focused on hardware but wants to be a ‘smart life solution company’ that continues generating income after selling a TV or other device. The TV branch is the first industry in which LG wants to make the necessary changes. So expect more ads on your webOS TV from LG.
“To start, as of the end of this year, LG’s TV business is projected to make a great transformation based on its webOS operating system, which powers more than 200 million smart TVs around the world. In line with this, the company intends to transform its TV business portfolio into a ‘media and entertainment service provider’ by expanding content, services and advertisement in products, including LG OLED and LG QNED TVs, which have differentiated competitiveness,”
LG wants to offer media and entertainment by offering more content, services, and advertisements to the user on LG OLED TVs and LG QNED TVs, among others. Part of this is an investment in LG Channels, a free streaming service with advertisements, and the company will also bring webOS to other TV brands. Why LG thinks we, as users, are waiting for more advertisements is unknown to us.
