Via the LG’s Korean website a statement has been released about the update policy now that the company has stopped making new smartphones. LG, for example, has announced that Android updates will continue for the time being. A select number of LG smartphones will also receive the upgrade to Android 12. It is not yet known which devices these are. LG will also continue with security updates for the time being. However, they do keep a close eye on things, because as stated, the plans regarding updates may change in the future.
Android 11 rollout is now underway
LG is currently rolling out Android 11, so if you have a device that runs on an older Android version, you can expect the update soon. Software updates have never been the South Korean manufacturer’s forte, so you may have to be patient. The update is coming anyway.
