LG today lets IFA 2018 use to show the latest developments in the field of television. The Korean manufacturer shows among other things an 8K oled television with a resolution of 7.680 by 4.320 pixels. This amounts to more than 33 million pixels.
LG gives a lot of information about the expectations for the coming years, including the expectation that the sales of OLED televisions will probably double this year. Unfortunately, the company does not provide any information about the possible price or availability of the 8K Ultra HD OLED television shown at IFA. We therefore assume that it is a prototype, the price of which is still too high for a commercial introduction. LG does know that it expects to ship more than 5 million 8K Ultra HD TVs in 2022. So we can expect a model for consumers in the short term.
