New this year are the sound bars who can take advantage of LG TV’s AI Sound Pro feature. The TV sound is played through the soundbar with the TV Sound Mode Share. LG’s soundbars now offer the same sound modes as the TVs from the 2021 line-up, so you can easily switch between the soundbar and the TV using the TV remote.
The 2021 line-up can be used with multiple voice assistants from a smart speaker, including Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. With support for Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast, you can stream, control and share music and other content directly from your iPad, Mac or Android device.
Many of the new models feature Meridian Audio tuning and Meridian technology. The new feature, Meridian Horizon technology, is the result of LG’s partnership with Meridian Audio. This feature upgrades two-channel stereo content to multi-channel audio. All 2021 LG soundbars support Dolby Atmos and DTS: X for dynamic three-dimensional audio. There is also Dolby Vision compatibility via 4K pass-through. Many of the new models are Hi-Res Audio certified, which ensures lossless playback at 24bit / 96kHz. In addition, support for HDMI eARC present. In addition, they offer USB playback and Bluetooth streaming.
AI Room Calibration provides optimal sound in any environment, using spatial awareness technology. Measures the dimensions of a room, then adjusts the soundbar’s audio settings to the specifics of the room. The AI Sound Pro uses adaptive sound control to automatically adjust the frequency response and sound field expansion depending on the type of content you are watching or listening to: news, music or movie.
The new LG Soundbar models – including SP11RA, SP9YA, SP8YA and SP7Y – will be launched in major markets in Europe, including the Benelux, starting this month, with more models later this year.
