LG 2022 OLED TV Lineup – Models, Specifications and Prices

In the article, we list LG 2022 OLED TV Lineup on the basis of the model, including model numbers, specificities and (subject to description) the prices.

LG 2022 OLED TV Lineup – Models, Specifications and Prices: LG’s focus this year is on more screen sizes and even more brightness. The South Korean manufacturer comes with smaller (42-inch) OLED televisions and introduces a larger 97-inch model. In addition, the focus is on a higher brightness, using the OLED EX technique, which LG calls OLED Evo.

LG 2022 OLED TVs

LG’s 2022 OLED TV line-up consists of the same series as last year. For example, we now see the A2, B2, C2, G2 and Z2 series. Just like last year, the models in the Z2 series have the 8K resolution, but those are also still unaffordable. The lower series come with the 4K resolution. What is new is that the number of formats has been expanded. The C2 series comes this year in a smaller, 42-inch version, while the G2 series is supplemented with a larger, 97-inch variant.

Also new is that LG has improved last year’s OLED Evo technology (available on the G1 series) and has applied it in the C2 series. The C2 series uses the ‘standard’ OLED Evo panels that can crank up the brightness to around 900 nits. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the 42-inch and 48-inch models in the C2 series. The models in the G2 series will have a special cooling system that allows the OLED Evo panels to reach a maximum of 1000 nits of brightness. An additional advantage of this technique is that the screens can be made tighter. In particular, the edge (the bezel) would be a few millimeters narrower.

All oled televisions in the C2, G2, and Z2 series use the new Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor, which is significantly more powerful than its predecessor. Of course, artificial intelligence is also present again for optimal audio and video reproduction. The lower models in the A2 and B2 series are equipped with the Alpha 7 Gen 5 video processor. Just like last year, the A2 series will receive a 50Hz panel, where the higher models have a 100Hz panel. This means that the A2-series televisions also have HDMI 2.0 instead of HDMI 2.1. The higher models all come with the same features, including HDMI 2.1, 4K/120, VRR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 and Filmmaker Fashion. The TVs also come with support for Nvidia GeForce Now and Google Stadia. New for 2022, users will be able to select and switch game-specific features and display presets from the TV’s Game Optimizer menu. The Game Optimizer menu provides quick access to the new Dark Room Mode, which adjusts the screen brightness for a better gaming experience in the dark. Settings for G-SYNC Compatible, FreeSync Premium, and variable refresh rate (VRR) can be accessed through Game Optimizer. In addition, a new sports mode has been added to presets for first-person shooter, role-playing and real-time strategy games, providing more details for a realistic gaming experience.

webOS 22 introduces personal profiles for a personalized viewing experience. Under each profile, users can set up quick access to their favorite streaming services, get tailored recommendations based on their viewing history, and receive real-time alerts to keep up to date with favorite sports teams. Logging in to profiles can be done both via the TV browser and via a smartphone with NFC Magic Tap. NFC Magic Tap can also be used to mirror the screen of a mobile device to an LG TV. Viewers can also mirror content in their home from one TV to another using Room To Room Share. Watches cable or satellite content on another TV over WiFi without an additional set-top box. Always Ready turns an LG TV into a media display when not in use. Always Ready is activated with a press of the power button on the LG Remote to transform the screen into a digital canvas for displaying artwork, keeping track of time or playing music. In addition, the upgrade of ThinQ AI allows LG’s 2022 TVs to become a smart home hub. ThinQ provides voice control and compatibility with other ThinQ devices. And now also offers support for Matter.
