Vacuum cleaner manufacturer iRobot has added two new smart vacuum cleaners to its range this week. The Roomba 690 and 890 both have WiFi and can therefore be operated via an app. In addition, both models can be controlled by voice.
New smart vacuum cleaners with WiFi and Alexa support
The Roomba 690 and 890 are iRobot’s latest robotic vacuums and the company’s first affordable, app-controlled models to market. Both vacuum cleaners can be controlled via an app for Android and iOS. This means you can remotely switch on the vacuum cleaner, activate schedules and view statistics.
The most expensive model is the Roomba 890, although the price has not yet been announced. This vacuum cleaner is particularly suitable for people who have pets with a lot of hair loss, according to the company. The brushes have been specially developed for this. The Roomba 690 is the cheapest smart vacuum cleaner at a price of $ 375. The Roomba 890 and 690 are also expected to appear on the market in Europe next summer.
All smart robot vacuum cleaners from iRobot can also be controlled by voice. Support for Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant is available for this. Unfortunately, this feature is currently only available in the United States and only available in English.
