Apple released two major updates last weekend, including iOS 14.4.2. The other major update is watchOS 7.3.3. So if you have modern hardware from Apple at home, you should download both updates as soon as possible.
Problems with iOS
What is the case? Well, as with iOS 14.4.1 and macOS 11.2.3, the update includes a fix for a critical issue on both devices. By the way, if you have a modern iPad, you can of course also download iPadOS 14.4.2, as can be read on the support page.
On that support page you can also read more about the problem that has surfaced. Without the new updates for your devices, malicious parties can perform cross-site scripting via malicious websites. With that leak, it is possible that someone could pull information from other web pages that you have open on the device you are using.
Apple says that at least one person has been affected by this leak. It is also not known exactly how big the problem is and to what extent several people have been affected by it. So you do well to get the update as soon as possible, so that you do not become one of the victims.

You should automatically be notified of the update, but if you don’t want or can’t wait, you can also start the update installation in the following way:
- Go to the settings on your iPhone.
- Press “general”.
- Go to “Software Update”.
- You should now see steps on your screen that you can follow.
