Intoducing TAD-C1000 Preamplifier

Intoducing TAD-C1000 Preamplifier - TADL INTRODUCES THE TAD-C1000 EVOLUTION SERIES PREAMPLIFIER

Technical Audio Devices Laboratories, Inc. (TADL) announces the TAD-C1000 preamplifier as the latest addition to its Evolution series of high-fidelity audio components.

The TAD-C1000 is designed to amplify signals from source components, such as a record player, without compromising the precision and purity of signal processing and transmission for further amplification by power amplifiers. The TAD-C1000 employs a design language shared with the critically acclaimed TAD-D1000TX record player, TAD-C1000 D/A converter, and TAD-M1000 power amplifier already offered in the Evolution series.

MAIN FEATURES

1) Impeccable preamp circuit

TADL has developed a preamp version of a single-stage current feedback amplifier originally developed for the TAD-M700 power amplifier and other TAD hi-fi components and incorporated it into the flat amplifier section of the TAD-C1000. To achieve the highest level of signal complementarity, we have tested the performance characteristics of each FET device and have chosen matched pairs for positive and negative elements for the TAD-C1000. This meticulous attention to detail has taken the stability of the preamp circuitry to the next level.

2) Center-mounted, ball-bearing volume knob

The volume knob looks and feels exquisite. It is mounted on high-precision ball bearings to ensure exceptionally smooth rotation. Its center-mounted design signifies the symmetrical layout of the internal circuitry in the tradition of the Evolution Series of hi-fi components.

3) Perfectly symmetrical circuit design

To suppress even the smallest amplification errors of the positive and negative signals and between the left and right channels, the patterns and parts of the audio circuit are distributed symmetrically in the lower chassis. The search for a perfectly symmetrical design does not stop there. We’ve even gone as far as designing two power transformers, chassis construction, and rear panel connectors symmetrically for optimal balance of weight and vibration. With these elaborately balanced designs, signals passing through the TAD-C1000 are amplified in a unified electrical and mechanical environment, contributing to sound with greater stereophonic impact.

4) Intricate vibration control design.

The heavy, sturdy body of the TAD-C1000 stands on the spiked feet characteristic of the Evolution series. Minimal contact with the surface the TAD-C1000 sits on prevents external vibrations from traveling through the feet and eliminates their adverse effect on circuitry and parts inside the case. In addition, two power transformers are each mounted on a 6mm thick brass base that dampens transformer-induced vibrations.

5) High-purity power circuit

The transformer’s internal coil is connected directly to the power supply circuitry to increase power supply purity, minimizing contact points with the output leads. In addition, the terminals for directly connected coils, the mounting terminals for base plates, and the clamping screws are made of oxygen-free copper coated with non-magnetic materials to eliminate even the slightest magnetic distortion.

A large dedicated toroidal transformer powers the audio and control circuits. The audio circuit has separate internal coils for the left and right channels. This ingenious grounding system ensures perfect symmetry between the positive and negative signal levels and the left and right channels.

6) TAD custom parts and components

TAD’s custom electronic volume control circuitry features ladder resistance switching, achieving exceptionally accurate dimming performance and ultra-low distortion of less than 0.0005% at 1 Vrms input. In addition, the power circuit employs TAD’s custom-made smoothing electrolytic capacitors and high-capacity, ultra-low-distortion film coupling capacitors to achieve a wider low-cut frequency range.
