IFTTT support for Roomba, TaHoma, Somfy and more

4.4/5 - (51 votes)

IFTTT support has been expanded. Devices like the iRobot Roomba, the TaHoma smart home system and the Somfy smart thermostat are now also supported.

IFTTT stands for If This Then That and is an application that supports automating certain processes. You can set your smart devices so that, when a certain action takes place, a certain response is automatically given.

Applets can be found on the IFTTT website . These are in fact recipes that can follow up certain actions. Handy for smartphone applications and social media, but IFTTT only really comes into its own in the field of smart home products. Tell Google Assistant that you are going to sleep (action) and the smart lighting will automatically turn off (response) or let the Philips Hue lights automatically flash when carbon monoxide is detected in the house. Thanks to IFTTT you let your smart home products work better with each other.

Extended IFTTT support for Roomba and more

Today it has become known that new devices have been added with IFTTT support in combination with Google Assistant and other smart devices. For example, the robot vacuum cleaner iRobot Roomba is now supported. Via IFTTT you can start, pause, stop or send Roomba back to the dock. When the Roomba is ready you can also start another action. The Somfy Connected Thermostat (smart thermostat), the Somfy TaHoma (complete smart home system), the SwitchBot, BOND, sREMO, iO.e and digitalSTROM are now equipped with IFTTT support.
