Huawei presents Mate 40 Series – Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro +

Huawei presents Mate 40 series two new models, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro +. Both mobiles equipped with 50 MP camera and long battery life.

Huawei presents Mate 40 Series. The series consists of the Mate 40 Pro and the Mate 40 Pro +. Both devices have a 5nm 5G SoC, an Ultra Vision Cine camera and a unique camera module on the back. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro and the Pro + have an OLED screen of 6.76 inches with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The resolution of the display is 2,772 by 1,344 pixels. The smartphones have the new Kirin 9000 Series chip that, according to the company, has the first 5 nanometer integrated 5G SoC. The GPU must be up to 50 percent more powerful than the predecessor. The Mate 40 Pro comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of (expandable) storage memory. The Mate 40 Pro + comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of (expandable) storage memory.

Huawei presents Mate 40 Series: Cameras

As with previous models from Huawei, a lot of attention has also been paid this time to the photo and video options on the device. At the back we find a ring with the cameras on it. The main camera has a large sensor to capture a lot of light and has 50 megapixels (f / 1.9). The second camera has an ultra-wide angle lens with twenty megapixels (f / 1.8). The telephoto lens (periscope) is also back with twelve megapixels. This time with 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom (f / 3.4). The big difference with the Mate 40 Pro + is also immediately clear here, because this plus model has 10x optical zoom, 20x hybrid zoom and 100x digital zoom (f / 4.4, eight megapixels). The Pro + lets you zoom in further. However, that’s not all, because there is also a camera of twelve megapixels for the medium distances with 3x zoom and auto laser focus. The Pro + therefore has a dual-telephoto camera.

Both models have a thirteen megapixel camera and a depth sensor on the front. Both smartphones have a battery of 4,400 mAh and you can charge super-fast with the 66W charger. You can charge wirelessly up to a maximum of 50W.

The Mate 40 Series runs on Huawei Mobile Services with the EMUI 11 shell. No Google Play Store, but apps via the AppGallery of the Chinese manufacturer.

Price and availability

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro is available immediately via the Huawei website for EUR 1199.99 in the colors Mystic Silver and Black. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro + will probably be 1399.99 euros.
