Huawei to cuts in smartphone production

Despite the fact that the manufacturer has decided not to sell its smartphone branch, it does not mean that the company is doing well. In fact, it seems to be getting worse; in any case with the department responsible for releasing telephones.

So reports the Japanese newspaper Nikkei that Huawei has informed its partners that it will need fewer parts this year than in 2020. The manufacturer is said to order enough parts to produce 70 to 80 million smartphones. That is a decrease of sixty percent. Last year, the company shipped 189 million smartphones. And that was much less than in 2019, when the counter stood at more than 240 million.

In addition, the decision affects the type of smartphones that we can expect. For example, no high-end models are expected next year. Huawei cannot come up with parts that are necessary for 5G smartphones, so it must focus on 4G models.

Some suppliers expect the Chinese manufacturer to deliver less than eighty million smartphones this year. They expect this number to fall to fifty million units.
