Homey, the Smart Home platform of the Dutch Athom, now works together with Home Connect. This means that devices from manufacturers such as Bosch and Siemens can also be used within the homey app.

Thanks to the update, users can keep an eye on all Home Connect products from the Homey app. Think of ovens, dishwashers, coffee machines, dryers and washing machines from Bosch and Siemens. Refrigerators will be added to the app at a time to be specified. The idea is that by adding these devices to the app, users can automate their lives.
“The integration between Homey and Home Connect offers many interesting new possibilities for users,” says Stefan Witkamp, Commercial Director of Athom. “ Via Flows, for example, the dishwasher can switch on automatically as soon as you go to sleep, and the rest of the smart appliances can be switched off to save energy. Home Connect products can now also work together with the thousands of other devices that Homey supports, such as TVs, stereos, lighting, switches, solar panels and much more ”.
Future possibilities
The developers also see useful future opportunities ahead of them. Suppose you have solar panels, Home Connect will also be able to see when energy is being generated in the future. If desired, you can then set the washing machine to start running at that moment, which saves you money by only using your own energy.
