HMD Global has introduced a new smartphone in the Nokia 5 series. The mid-range series gets a new addition with the Nokia 5.4. This device focuses on photography with a 48-megapixel camera and a special cinema video mode. In addition, the brand promises three years of monthly security updates and two years of software upgrades.

Nokia 5.4 specifications

The Nokia 5.4 has a 6.39-inch HD + display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor on board. The device will have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB storage memory. The device has a large battery of 4,000 mAh and a polycarbonate housing. This enclosure must be strong enough to withstand a weight of a 10-year-old child.

Nokia 5.4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor optimized with AI technology. The phone will run on Android 10 out of the box and will be Android 11 ready. The Finnish smartphone company also promises two years of OS update and three years of monthly security updates.

Most attention has been paid to the 48-megapixel camera on the back. You can quickly take photos with a shutter delay of 0 seconds. So pressing the shutter button means taking a photo immediately at that moment. You can also make video recordings at 60 frames per second.

Price and availability

The Nokia 5.4 with 48-megapixel camera will be available in the Netherlands from mid-January 2021. Choose from the colors Polar Night and Dusk with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage memory for 199 euros. Or take the Nokia 5.4 in Polar Night with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage memory for 249 euros. With the latter model you also receive the E-1200 headphones. This variant with more storage memory will be available in stores at the end of January.
