Google is working on a Flemish voice for Google Maps

Google is working on a Flemish voice for Google Maps however, The news has not yet been officially announced.

The news has not yet been officially announced, but readers of android world discovered that when navigating in Google Maps you occasionally hear a Flemish voice popping up.

For example, people occasionally heard a Flemish voice while navigating with Google Maps. You can of course look up all kinds of locations via Google Maps, but it is also a full navigation system. Whether you’re in the car, on the bike or just walk around. With Google Maps you know exactly where to go. And in the Netherlands and Belgium we have always had a Dutch voice that may sound too loud in some cases. A softer Flemish voice would then be a nice alternative.

Flemish voice for Google maps not yet to be chosen

The voice occasionally pops up during navigation, where a Flemish sentence is pronounced and the navigation then continues with the Dutch voice. You can’t choose the Flemish voice at the moment in the settings of the navigation app from Google. It remains to be seen when you can actually choose the Flemish voice, but the fact that it now pops up (accidentally) seems to indicate that Google will soon launch the this option for Google Maps. As soon as that is the case, we will of course inform you.
