new design of Google Home: Google has started rolling out the renewed Google Home application. The update is on the way to both Android and iOS. Several users have already received the update. Everyone should have received it within a few days.

During the Google hardware event, the search engine giant announced that we can expect a new design for the Google Home app “before the end of the year”. That update seems to be arriving now, as users have reported seeing a different interface on both Android and iOS. It doesn’t seem like you need to download a separate update for this yet, since the changes are made via a server. The new design should make navigation much easier than before.

Now it is still the case that you will see four tabs at the bottom of the screen, but after the update there are only two. The Home tab has remained largely the same but now also presents a media button that provides access to all active media within your network. When you open the options, you will be presented with a map interface with the usual controls. You see an album cover when you listen to music and you can jump music from speaker to speaker very quickly with the Stream transfer function.

At the bottom of the Google Home tab you will find new options for the recently announced Google Nest Wifi , including all kinds of options that you would normally find in the normal Google Wifi app. At the top right is your profile picture, while on the left you will find a button for adding new devices. The most important addition, however, is the new Feed tab. Here you get an overview of important events at home. Here you can also see video and audio clips and get tips on all kinds of functions.
