Sonos announced in a blog post that support for the Google Assistant will not be rolled out until 2019. Initially it was the intention that this support would be rolled out in 2018, but the speaker manufacturer did not manage to realize that.
Google Assistant on Sonos speakers
Sonos provides support for the Google Assistant from 2019, let the company know in a blog post. Initially it was the intention that the manufacturer of the popular multiroom speakers would bring the support to the speakers in 2018, but in the blog post is to read that this goal will unfortunately not be achieved. There is no clear reason, however.
While we have been planned for the event in 2018, the reality is that we need a bit more 2019, and we’re going to make good progress.
So more time is needed, but it is not clear why that is exactly or what problems are encountered. At the earliest we only get to hear ‘early in 2019’ what the next step is for the company and until that time we have to do it with the above statement. Do you already have interest? Then it is possible to register for the private beta of the company.
