Google Assistant for third-party video doorbells is getting support now

Google Assistant for third-party is available now. Hopefully this means that manufacturers can be quickly integrated with the Google Assistant.

Google Assistant for third-party: Google keeps one list of various devices that the Google Assistant can integrate with. The list was updated last night adding that developers can now create a smart doorbell with the Assistant API. According to the company, a video doorbell has two important functions. A video doorbell must be able to communicate with your other smart home devices when someone is at the door and act as a security camera at the front door. The images must therefore be accessible and you must be able to receive notifications. Website 9to5Google has delved further and it seems this has opened the door for doorbell manufacturers to offer much the same functionality as Google’s own Nest Hello video doorbell when it comes to voice assistance.

Hopefully this means that manufacturers like Eufy, Netatmo, Arlo and possibly even the video doorbells from Action and the other retail chains, can be quickly integrated with the Google Assistant. The manufacturers have to work with the Assistant API themselves to make this possible. It would be great if we could soon view the images directly on the Google Nest Hub. For whom one video doorbell from Ring has. There is a small chance that they will make use of this option. Ring is part of Amazon is much more focused on Amazon Alexa.

Google does require that the reliability is at least 97 percent and the delay no more than two seconds.
