Google Assistant for Bang and Olufsen Besound 1 and 2
The Google Assistant is now rolled out to the Beosound 1 – and Beosound 2 speakers from speaker manufacturer Bang and Olufsen. The company announced this on Monday. To ensure that the assistant hears the spoken commands through the wall of sound, the sound engineers developed an advanced echo suppressing technology and integrated five microphones into the speaker’s aluminum to analyze which sounds are coming from the speaker and the consumer.
In addition to the integrated voice assistant, Bang and Olufsen have added four Favorites buttons at the top of the speakers to which different tasks can be assigned. For example, frequently used commands, such as streaming a radio station, playing your favorite music list, listening to the weather report or looking at what is on the agenda for you that day, can be assigned to a single button. The buttons are content independent: they work with all Google Assistant devices and music services.
Thanks to the integration of Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2, all leading music services can be streamed from a smartphone to Beosound 1 and Beosound 2 and you can distribute music through the house through your multiroom installation. And thanks to the integrated Google Assistant, the speakers offer a smart speaker functionality that allows you to control your loudspeaker and / or other smart devices at home. The Beosound 1 is now available; the Beosound 2 will be released in January
