xCloud to iOS via the web

Microsoft has announced that the game streaming service xCloud will be available exclusively for Android devices from September 15. In this case, that means that you get access to more than a hundred games, for an amount of 12.99 euros per month. iPhone and iPad users have to wait a little longer.

Game streaming service xCloud is coming to Android

The reason people with an iPhone or iPad have to wait a little longer has to do with the App Store policy that Apple uses. Microsoft doesn’t get as much freedom on iOS as on Android. Microsoft has not disclosed exactly what restrictions are causing it. But Google Stadia, for example, is not yet available on Apple’s platforms either. Despite this, the game streaming service is now officially launching as part of the company’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

The launch will take place in 22 countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium. A new Xbox Game Pass app will also be available on September 15; the beta will end September 11 next. Microsoft also works with companies such as Razer, PowerA, 8BitDo and Nacon to supply controllers and accessories, even though the game can be controlled via touchscreen control. You can also use the existing Xbox One controllers or even the PlayStation DualShock 4 controller. The choice is huge.

The titles below, among others, are playable via xCloud, also known as the cloud component of Xbox Game Pass.
