The new FRITZ! Box 5530 Fiber

Connecting the device to a fiber optic network offers advantages. Especially if you don’t have a media converter or upstream modem from your provider. In addition to the high speeds, WiFi 6 also offers fast response times and many devices can use the network at the same time. Streaming, downloads, playing games in the cloud: with the FRITZ! Box 5530 Fiber, all these applications and services can be used simultaneously.

In addition, there is integrated mesh WiFi, so you can use the router in combination with FRITZ! Repeaters and FRITZ! Powerline products. The FRITZ! In addition, there is a DECT base station for telephony and a smart home function, so that you have control over all devices in the house. There are also options such as a firewall, parental controls, remote access, WiFi guest access and regular updates.

Fiber optic in the Netherlands

More and more households in the Netherlands are connected to the fiber optic network, which realizes a much faster internet connection. The technology transmits the data within the fiber optic cable in the form of short infrared light pulses. In addition, fiber optic technology is highly resistant to electrical and magnetic disturbances and offers symmetrical downstream and upstream speeds. With fiber optic technology upload and download speeds of more than 1 gigabit per second are already possible, and speeds of a few gigabits per second are also possible.

The FRITZ! Box 5530 is already available from various providers and will soon be available from retailers.
