Foldable smartphones on the way
It seems that in 2021 we will see a lot more foldable smartphones than we have done so far. Phone Arena writes based on a source (UBI Research) that Samsung, for example, is working on three new models: Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Fold Lite and Z Flip 2. However, Ross Young, an industry insider and specialist in displays, reports that there will be no Z Fold Lite arrives and that we can count on a Z Flip Lite instead.
Young also reports that Samsung’s foldable smartphones will appear in the second half of 2021. They will have to compete for a place in that new market, unlike the models that are for sale so far. There are reportedly also four foldable models from Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi. Google also has to throw in its weight according to the latest rumors. The market for such products therefore appears to be growing rapidly.
It is no surprise that Google and other smartphone manufacturers are working on foldable smartphone already. That rumor appeared for the first time in August. The phone should be released in the fourth quarter of 2021. It is also already known that Xiaomi is working on its own smartphone that is foldable. The device that the Chinese manufacturer is now working on should get a 108 megapixel camera, as well as a Snapdragon processor.
It is not yet clear when that phone will appear, but that should happen sometime in 2021. Last year, Oppo also launched a teaser when it comes to foldable smartphones. But the phones will still have to be delayed. When the smartphones of Oppo and Vivo should appear, has unfortunately not been announced by the rumors.
