Nice news from Nettetal: The manufacturer Denon is delighting its customers with a firmware update (U26) for the Denon Home series, which currently consists of a soundbar and three wireless speakers.

Denon firmware update U26: details

As Denon announced, the new firmware update ensures that the Denon Home 150, 250 and 350 wireless speakers and the 550 Alexa-enabled will. Users can ask Alexa to play music or news, call up the weather report or control compatible smart home devices. For reasons of data protection, however, users must first activate the Alexa function – only then will the built-in microphone of the speakers be activated.

Of course, even after the Alexa functionality has been activated, confidential conversations are still possible: the microphone can be muted at any time using a capacitive button. However, it works the other way around: If you want to use Alexa permanently without having to say the activation word “Alexa” every time, you can switch on an active listening mode.

There are two extra features for the Denon Sound Bar 550: On the one hand, it received a special DSP boost, which is supposed to provide more intensive bass reproduction – and on the other hand, the Denon home speakers can now also be configured as rear speakers so that wireless 5.1 surround sound, compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, is possible.

Last but not least, the Heos app shines in new splendor – according to Denon, the user interface has been modernized and navigation and controls have been improved at the same time.

The firmware update is now available under the release name U26.
