Denon officially presented the new DHT-S217 soundbar today. This affordable soundbar has two downward-firing subwoofers and supports Dolby Atmos. According to the manufacturer, you can enjoy ultimate surround sound without a separate subwoofer.
The Denon DHT-S217 is 6.6 centimeters high and therefore fits under almost any television. In addition to Dolby Atmos for your home entertainment, users can also stream music from a smartphone via bluetooth. Connecting should be a piece of cake, because the HDMI and optical cables are simply included. So you can connect this model to almost any television. Incidentally, HDMI eARC supported. You can easily control the volume with the remote control of your television.
Different sound modes
There are different sound modes for movie, night, music and pure. This last mode is an interesting one, because it disables all surround processing and other adjustments. So you get the purest sound experience. In the night mode, the bass is reduced as standard, so that you are no longer a nuisance to any roommates and neighbors in the later evenings. In addition, there is a Dialog Enhancer that makes dialogues more intelligible. You can also choose from three different modes.
Price and availability
The Denon DHT-S217 soundbar will be available from May through, among others, the Denon’s website. The suggested retail price of this new model is 269 euros.
