News from Chord Electronics: Anni is the name of the new, lightweight and ultra-compact integrated amplifier for the desktop area, which, according to Chord, should be able to drive both loudspeakers and headphones.
Chord Electronics Anni: Features and Concept
The compact amp weighs only 625 grams (plus the external power supply) and was specially designed for the desktop area. Despite its rather economical output power of 2 x 10 watts into 8 ohms, it should bring audiophile sound with it – there is also no class D amplifier stage, but a class AB design. Incidentally, the Chord Anni is a thoroughbred analog amplifier: two high-level sources can be connected, a DAC is not on board.
This reduction is definitely desired and part of a concept, because the Chord Anni was designed especially for “cooperation” with the in-house Huei phono preamp and the Qutest DAC – these devices are also compact and suitable for desktops.

The electronics reside in a CNC-milled housing made of robust aluminum. A special error correction topology, the exact functionality of which is not explained in the press release, is intended to minimize distortions as well as possible. In addition to speaker connections, there is also a 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm headphone output.
