New upgraded Cat Phones: The Cat S42 H + and the Cat B40 4G are the two new models. According to Cat, they are the first rugged phones with advanced hygienic and antibacterial technology. This technology is called Hygiene Plus Innovation and can be found on both models. All external parts of the smartphones have been treated with Biomaster’s active antibacterial silver ion technology during the manufacturing process. This should prevent the growth of microbes. The phones are ISO 22196 certified and inhibit bacterial growth by 80 percent after 15 minutes and by 99.9 percent within 24 hours. Cat phones are extra robust phones for tough working conditions and have ip68 and ip69 ratings.
Cat S42 H +
The Cat S42 H + has a 5.5-inch HD + display, a Mediatek Helio A20 MT 6761D chipset, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable RAM. The battery has a capacity of 4,200 mAh. On the back we find a thirteen megapixel camera. In the front a selfie camera of five megapixels. The device runs on Android 10 and will receive an upgrade to Android 11 in the autumn of 2021. You will receive three years of security updates on this device. The Cat S42 H + has bluetooth 5.0, nfc, a 5mm audio jack and dual sim.
You can use the Cat S42 H + up to 1.5 meters underwater for 35 minutes and also scrub it in warm water with soap and disinfectant. The device is resistant to bleach, chemicals, alcohol and hand sanitizer. Thanks to MIL-SPEC 810H, the device can also develop extreme temperatures and vibrations. The device can withstand drop tests from six feet to steel at any corner of the device.
Cat B40 4G
The Cat B40 4G is not a real smartphone, but a feature phone. It has physical buttons and runs on a very basic operating system. So do you want a work phone that can take a beating, but without being really smart? Then you can take a look at this device. You get an 1800 mAh battery, bluetooth 5.0, 5mm audio jack, two megapixel camera and a 4 ″ QVGA display.
Price and availability of New upgraded Cat Phones
The Cat S42 H + is now available through the catphones website and costs 269 euros. The Cat B40 4G will be on the market in mid-May for EUR 79.90.
