Bowers & Wilkins announces the release of a new 16-channel power amp for distributed sound called Bowers & Wilkins CDA-16.
The new CDA-16 distributed sound power amp can power up to eight individual home spaces with high-quality stereophonic sound from one compact and elegant product.

Available from next April, the new Bowers & Wilkins CDA-16 has been designed to work with any existing Bowers & Wilkins custom install speaker system. With a total of 16 channels that allow it to power 8 stereo zones, the CDA-16 offers maximum performance with minimum installation space thanks to its compact 1U design. Its configurable nature also allows users to mono-bridge their Class D stereo amplifier channel groups for even more power if the situation calls for it.
In its standard configuration, the CDA-16 delivers 50 W RMS over 8 ohms to each of its 16 channels which are converted to 100 W RMS with 4 ohm speakers. The selection of the bridged mode allows this power to be increased to as low as 200 W RMS over 8 ohms, thus ensuring generous control and authority whatever the demands of the installation. The connection of sources is simplicity in its pure state, with eight pairs of inputs with RCA connectors for analog line connection and the option of using one of the inputs as a “global” connection that sends the same signal to all the outputs.
Rack-mountable ready, the ultra-compact CDA-16 uses low operating temperature Class D amplification to ensure maximum power output and impressive energy efficiency. At just 44.5 mm high, it fits easily into both Hi-Fi cabinets and racks for professional installations.
