Would you like to have high-quality stereo sound throughout the house, but not place a complete system in every room? Then the new product from the Custom Install range from Bowers & Wilkins would be interesting – a 16-channel power amplifier in a slim Class D design.
B&W CDA-16: amplifier technology
This amp offers 16 channels, each up to individually 100 watts into 4 ohms Have power – or can be bridged for a power of 200 watts each with eight channels. It was developed for the B&W built-in loudspeakers, it can of course also be connected to other loudspeakers.
The signals are fed in the classic way via cinch sockets. If desired, it is possible to use an introductory sentence as a global source and then take off the amplified signal via all outputs at the same time.
The configuration of the individual channels can easily be done using the mouse piano on the back. The amplifier can also be mounted in a rack, and thanks to its low height of 44.5 mm, it can be easily “hidden”. This output stage also has protective circuits against overload, short circuit and overheating.
Bowers & Wilkins CDA-16 price: 2,000 euros
