With the second generation of Blue Byrd headphones, Beyerdynamic wants to bring many of the everyday demands placed on such an in-ear under one roof and thus enable “flowing transitions between listening to music, making phone calls, work, learning or sport”.
Beyerdynamic Blue Byrd 2nd Gen – Features & Technology
The new Beyerdynamic Blue Byrd is a Bluetooth in-ear with a neckband. For high-quality signal transmission, it relies on the audio codecs AAC and aptX Adaptive – it is also multipoint-capable, i.e. it can establish connections with two Bluetooth devices at the same time.
Thanks to cVc technology, speech intelligibility is at To phone especially good, and since the blue bird also has the so-called sidetone function, which outputs its own speech signal via the listener, conversation situations should appear particularly natural.
One IPX4 certification protects the Beyerdynamic Blue Byrd from rain and moisture, which pays off especially when exercising, according to the Heilbronn-based manufacturer. With a 3-button remote control, media playback and calls can be controlled easily and flexibly.
The earphones are particularly flat, which, according to Beyerdynamic, guarantees a high level of comfort even when lying down. The scope of delivery includes five silicone ear tips of different sizes, a hard case for storage and a USB cable.
Speaking of which: a full charge via USB takes 100 minutes and should be for you 14-hour use enough – a short “loading snack” of ten minutes makes two hours of playing time possible. Among other things, the neckband construction is responsible for the long battery life, as somewhat larger batteries can be installed here.
The Beyerdynamic Blue Byrd not only gets along with Google Assistant and Apple Siri, as an Amazon-certified product it can also easily access Alexa. And of course the one from Beyerdynamic headphones is familiar MOSAYC technology on board, which could raise music playback to another level, according to the manufacturer: The sound of the Blue Byrd can be personalized with a two-minute hearing test using the MIY app, and speaks to your own hearing. In addition, the in-ear headphones can always be kept up to date with the latest technical standards via this app.
The Beyerdynamic Blue Byrd (2nd generation) is now available for the price of 129 euros in the Beyerdynamic online shop (see link below) and on Amazon available. The new in-ear headphones will also be available from specialist retailers from October 28, 2021.
