BenQ has announced new 4K projectors. It concerns two pieces that have already pre-installed Netflix, with which BenQ wants to go for cinema-quality images: the BenQ W2710i 4K home cinema projector and the TK860i 4K home entertainment projector. Brightness and deeper contrasts are important with this Android TV projectors.
New BenQ projectors
The two projectors are equipped with BenQ’s HDR-PRO technology, which renders HDR10+ / HDR10 / HLG content and creates a lot of depth. HDR-PRO is also able to polish the overall dynamic range of the projectors. It does this by adding several options, including Local Contrast Enhancement. This is an advanced algorithm in which each image is divided into a grid.
The brightness is analyzed and the gamma of each area is automatically optimized. This preserves details in dark and light areas better. In addition, there is Dynamic Tone Mapping, which adjusts image contrast and brightness. This exposes details in dark or shadowy areas and prevents overexposure of bright areas.
BenQ TK860i
The 4K Daylight beamer TK860i is very bright, true to color and rich in contrast, which is due to its 3,300 ANSI lumens, HDR10 and 98% coverage of the Rec. 709 color space. If you like to watch sports or play games, you can count on a smooth display thanks to the Motion Enhancer and Fast Modes: BenQ promises to make high input lag a thing of the past with this projector.
W2710i
His sister then, BenQ W2710i. This projector has .200 ANSI lumens, 95% DCI-P3 coverage and HDR10+, with the aim of delivering long-lasting 4K HDR images with high HDR color accuracy. This way more details can be seen and deeper contrasts are created in bright to dark scenes. Thanks to the Filmmaker Mode and the 24p refresh rate, BenQ wants to go for a cinematic feeling with a smooth image. If you want to dive deeper into the tech, there is a calibration report, in which the measurements are logged.
The devices are both easy to install thanks to horizontal and vertical lens shift, 1.3x zoom and 2D keystone correction. There are 2x 5 watt speakers, all important connections for flexible integration in your own home cinema setup and more. Wireless projection is an option that allows you to stream content from personal mobile devices.
