Bang & Olufsen has released an application ‘ B & O AR Experience app’ that allows the Danish company to offer potential buyers the opportunity to place speakers and televisions virtually in-house. The app works through augmented reality, making products appear in your living room, for example, by pointing the camera of your smartphone at a part of the living room.
The application has been given the name B & O AR Experience and should ultimately ensure that consumers rather choose a product from the company. After all, it is very difficult to judge in a shop whether a television or a large speaker fits your interior and fits in the intended room.
Your smartphone and the app together analyze the environment of the room where the camera is focused on. We look at the floors, objects and surfaces, after which a virtual speaker can be placed somewhere on the floor or a television can be shown against the wall. Once a product is placed you can go there and even walk around it, of course with the camera focused on the product. You can also put multiple products in one room at the same time and walk through space.
The B & O AR Experience app is compatible with the iPhone 6S and newer, and for the iPad Pro (2017) and newer.
