Bang & Olufsen Beolab 28 wireless speakers introduced

Bang & Olufsen Beolab 28 wireless speakers introduced: The Beolab 28 is according to Bang & Olufsen itself the most advanced connected loudspeaker

The Bang & Olufsen Beolab 28 is according to Bang & Olufsen itself the most advanced connected loudspeaker that the company has brought to the market to date. The speakers feature a built-in subwoofer and a custom 6.5-inch driver. The driver has a large excursion to obtain a powerful and accurate bass. Bang & Olufsen’s latest generation Active Room Compensation adapts the bass response to the environment, allowing the speakers to be placed anywhere. The models also come with 3-inch drivers located on the front and side, and a 1-inch tweeter on the front for high tones.

Thanks to Beam Width Control, the Beolab 28 must provide an optimal listening experience in every situation. In “narrow mode”, the music reaches the ear directly without any alteration to the original sound, minimizing interference from sidewall reflections and achieving the ultimate sweet spot listening experience. In “wide mode” the beam spreads more sound around the speakers; so that a natural tonal balance is maintained, even when you are not in the optimal listening area in front of the speakers.

Installation should be easy thanks to the wireless connection. This allows the speakers to be synchronized to 24 bits / 48 kHz within microseconds and with a smartphone or other source you can stream directly to the speakers. Airplay 2 or Chromecast, the B&O app, and Bluetooth are the options. The speakers will be made compatible with the Beolink Multiroom in the autumn of 2021 by means of an automatic software update. The Beolab 28 can also be connected to a Bang & Olufsen TV via Powerlink or Wireless Powerlink. In addition, the Beolab 28 is equipped with a user interface that lights up when you come near the device. With this interface you can pause / play, skip and turn the volume up or down. With 4 buttons you can also access a favorite radio station using a built-in Bang & Olufsen radio or Spotify playlist. You can operate the speakers in several ways: directly via the user interference, with a Bang & Olufsen remote control or directly via the smartphone.

The BeoLab 28 is a loudspeaker that can be placed anywhere in the living room, on the floor or on the wall. The loudspeaker is available in natural silver, black, anthracite or bronze-colored aluminum and is combined with speaker covers made of knitted fabric or solid wood. The fabric covers are available in two shades: gray and mixed gray. The wooden lids are available in light oak, oak, roasted oak and walnut. The design of the BeoLab 28 consists of a column speaker with a round curvature in the bottom end, followed by a conical shape in which the woofer sits. The speaker is held together by a spine that conceals cable wires and gives the impression that the speaker is floating in the air. The BeoLab 28 contains shutters that open when the loudspeaker is switched on. The shutters move when the sound beam is adjusted to reveal whether the speaker is in narrow or wide mode.
