According to the company itself, the Beosound Level from Bang & Olufsen offers a timeless design, designed by Torsten Valeur and manufactured in the Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark. The speakers have a pearl blasted aluminum frame and the cover is available in natural oak veneer and in a seamless knitted dark gray Kvadrat textile.
The Beosound Level is a wireless speaker and can therefore easily be carried around the house or placed in the garden. The speaker has IP54 protection regarding dust and splash water resistance. The user interface is seamlessly integrated into the aluminum frame and the keys are activated by soft touch. When the speaker is approached, it lights up thanks to the integrated proximity sensors that adjust their brightness for day and night.
The Bang & Olufsen wireless speaker has various charging options, including an aluminum magnetic plug that clicks seamlessly onto the back of the speaker. Bang & Olufsen has also designed an optional wall mount that allows you to charge the speaker while listening to music and to detach the speaker when you want to move the music with you.
The device supports Chromecast, Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay 2. Also (optional) the Google Assistant is present and you can play music via Bluetooth. Operation takes place via the accompanying app or the supplied remote.
The BeoSound Level comes with 105 watts of power, produced by a ‘five driver speaker setup’ with two 4-inch woofers, one 2-inch full range driver, two 0.8-inch tweeters and low-distortion amplifiers. According to the manufacturer, the speaker analyzes the room in which it is located and adjusts the optimal audio reproduction accordingly. The acoustic tuning is automatically adjusted from 180 degrees to 360 degrees, depending on how Beosound Level is placed. However, this should not be at the expense of battery life. Bang & Olufsen promises 16 hours of listening to music at normal volume.
The loudspeaker is available with the new Bang & Olufsen replaceable software module. According to the manufacturer, it has enough processing power and connectivity technology to receive new performance updates and features for many years to come. If the connection and streaming technology becomes outdated, this module can also be replaced by the latest version. That means that the speaker is ready for the future by updating to the latest technological standards.
