Bang & Olufsen AirPlay2 update has rolling out as the previously promised . The Bang & Olufsen AirPlay2 update provides full AirPlay 2 support on various audio systems, including a number of BeoPlay models.

A total of 10 products will be updated in the coming weeks to add support for Apple’s AirPlay 2. These include the BeoPlay M3, Beosound Core, Beosound Shape, Beosound 2 (1st gen), Beoplay M5, Beoplay A9 (mk2), Beoplay A6, Beosound Essence (2nd gen), Beosound 35 and Beovision Eclipse (audio only). The first-mentioned models get the update this week already, the latter models are only at the end of December. The newly announced Beosound 1 and Beosound 2 with the Google Assistant, and the Beosound Edge get AirPlay 2 out of the box.

Thanks to support for AirPlay 2 the aforementioned speakers and audio systems can be used in a multiroom system. All AirPlay 2 systems can be controlled via an iPad, iPhone or Mac, and you can connect different systems to create a multiroom system. In addition, there is integration of Siri so that you can play music on a specific speaker or in a specific room by means of a voice command. When you add an Apple HomePod to the system, you can also control everything with voice without having an iPhone, iPad or Mac at hand.
