Arlo Video Doorbell new variant : Some time ago, we discussed the Arlo Video Doorbell in one extensive review. An excellent video doorbell, but a model that you have to connect wired. Arlo now comes with a wireless variant called Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell.

At first glance, the Arlo Video Doorbell and this new wireless variant are very similar. And that’s right. There is little difference between the two models, other than the difference between battery and wired connection.

Arlo Video Doorbell new variant

Both models have an elongated housing with rounded corners on the top and bottom and come with the black front and white housing. On the images there also seems to be a completely black version. The video doorbell has a unique viewing angle with an aspect ratio of 1: 1 in 180 degrees.

The Arlo Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell offers images in a 1080p resolution with HDR and a night mode. The video doorbell has advanced people, animal and vehicle detection and also comes with a built-in siren. You do not connect this model wired, but via the removable rechargeable battery. This means you don’t have to bother with cables and a bell transformer.

If there is someone at the front door, you can receive notifications immediately. And as soon as someone presses the doorbell, you will receive a call on your phone. If you record, you will immediately see the live images with your visitor that you can communicate with. The video doorbell supports Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings for further integration within your smart home.

With the purchase of the Arlo Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell, you get three months of free Smart Security for additional security options and 30 days of cloud storage. After three months, a subscription costs 2.79 per month.
