Apple TV and HomeKit may be coming to the PlayStation

Last week, the news came that the Xbox would get the Apple TV app. Now it turns out that the PlayStation probably gets it too. So there is possibility  that both Apple TV and Homekit will be available on playstation.

PlayStation with Apple TV and HomeKit apps – rumor

Since the launch of the Apple TV app, which gives you access to the video streaming service Apple TV Plus, Apple has made that application available on a large number of devices. You don’t necessarily have to have an Apple device to use the app and purchase the subscription. It is one of the few services that therefore also works outside the Apple ecosystem. The app is now available for TVs from manufacturers such as Sony, LG and Samsung.

And soon the app may also appear on Xbox and PlayStation. Last week the news came about Xbox outwards and now it seems that the PlayStation will also get its own version. An anonymous source reports this to the website 9to5Mac. That source also reports that the Sony game console will receive support for HomeKit, but it does not necessarily mean that both apps will be released at the same time.

The Apple TV app therefore offers access to the video streaming service of the Cupertino company. You also get access to the entire iTunes movie library (including all titles in 4k hdr) and partner channels. HomeKit is the company’s smart home platform that automates home devices and more. When the apps should come to the game consoles – and which ones – that has not been announced. Chances are that the app will be released for the Xbox Series X, Series S and PlayStation 5.
