Apple introduced two new iPhones at its annual fall conference: the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both smartphones have a camera module but three camera lenses are incorporated.
Apple announces Apple iPhone 11
Apple has presented the new generation of iPhones: the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both models have an OLED screen of 5.8 and 6.5 inches respectively. Compared to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max , little seems to have changed in terms of design. The biggest change has to do with the camera module on the back: a third lens has been added. In addition to the two new flagships, Apple has announced a third iPhone, namely the iPhone 11 (as the successor to the iPhone XR ).
The new iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have a matte finish and are available in the colors green, gray, silver and gold. The OLED panel has also been renewed and has a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits, a contrast of two million to one and is also fifteen percent more energy efficient than its predecessor. Furthermore, Apple claims that this screen is equipped with the strongest glass on a smartphone. Under the hood we find, among other things, the Apple Bionic A13 processor. Working memory is not yet known.
The iPhones will be equipped with 64, 256 or 512 GB of internal storage space. The basic model gets the price stated at the bottom of the article. The more space you want, the more you have to pay. Apple also says that the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max can last longer with the energy in the battery: the 11 Pro should have up to four hours of extra energy, while the 11 Pro Max lasts up to five hours longer, compared to their predecessors. Of course this depends on how you use the smartphone on a daily basis.
From now on we will find a square camera module on the back. There are three lenses in it: the wide-angle lens of 120 degrees of twelve megapixels accompanies the other wide-angle lens and telephoto lens. The latter has a large aperture of f / 2.0, which means up to 40 percent more light can be absorbed compared to the XS. The front camera has twelve megapixels and is able to record in 4k and slow motion. So those are all reasonable improvements over the previous iPhones.
In addition, Apple is also focusing more on software. For example, there will be a dedicated evening mode with which you can take better photos in the evening and in dark environments. The function activates automatically when you are in the dark. In addition, Apple presents Deep Fusion: camera technology that merges nine photos and makes one image. The photo should then contain less noise and more detail. Unfortunately, this feature is not immediately available and will be made available sometime in fall 2019.
Price and availability
The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max can be ordered from September 13 and for sale from September 20. The smaller model has a starting price of 1,159 euros, while the larger model has a starting price of 1,259 euros.
