Sound United presented the new av line-up for 2018 in Alicante today. In addition, the company, including Denon and Marantz, let it be known that various AV receivers can expect an update to Apple’s AirPlay 2.
AirPlay 2 for Marantz and Denon receivers
Good news was shared for fans of Apple’s new AirPlay 2 standard. All Marantz and Denon receivers that offer support for Heos get a free firmware update that adds support for AirPlay 2. It concerns the premium models from 2016 and all Heos-compatible receivers from 2017 and 2018. In addition, the update is also made available for the recently launched Heos Homecinema HS2 soundbar. Sound United expects to roll out the update to all devices in early August.
With AirPlay 2, you can now wirelessly stream audio from your iPhone or iPad to compatible AV receivers or speakers. The operation takes place in one place; your iPhone, your iPad or your Macbook or iMac. Through this central point you can control all compatible speakers and systems in the house. Earlier this month, Apple already published a list with brands and products that will support AirPlay 2 in the short term.
